Rod Vaughan began his career as a luthier back in 1976 when, aged 17, he moved from the Scottish Highlands to Birmingham to work for John Birch Guitars, then one of the few established British guitar manufacturers around.
After an initial stint in production he became more involved with the repair side of the business, dealing with touring bands such as AC/DC, as well as local lads Slade and Roy Wood.
Since 1987 he's been running RV Guitar Repairs in Dundee, Dunfermline and Edinburgh and now works out of Kenny’s Music in Dundee and Red Dog Music in Edinburgh.
Additionally, for many years, he was the official, on-site guitar repairer for the T In The Park festival, carrying out emergency repairs for performers like the Kings of Leon and Stereophonics.
Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced pro or simply someone who plays a bit for their own enjoyment, the chances are your guitar could benefit from some of his expert attention.
